FAQS

Answering Your Questions

DOES A DOULA REPLACE NURSING STAFF?

No, a doula is a non-medical birth professional trained to offer emotional and physical support.

DO YOU OFFER POSTPARTUM SUPPORT?

There are two postpartum visits that will be made during your postpartum period. As always, you are welcome to contact me with any questions you may have at any time.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO HIRE A DOULA?

For many reasons. Education, support, advocacy, and so much more. You won’t regret hiring a doula to assist you in obtaining your desired birth experience!

WHAT IF I’M PLANNING TO HAVE AN EPIDURAL?

A doula isn’t limited to those who just have a natural child birth. We are available to women who utilize all birthing options.

WHAT TYPE OF PHYSICAL SUPPORT AND PAIN RELIEF DO YOU OFFER?

I’m trained to provide physical support and pain relief using positioning methods, birthing balls, massage, TENS units, and several skills specific to doula training.

IF I HAVE A DOULA, DO I NEED A MIDWIFE OR DOCTOR?

Even if you have a doula present at your birth, delivering without a midwife or OB present is considered an “unassisted” birth and while this is an option for you, I highly recommend having one or the other present at the time of delivery to ensure that you and baby are healthy and will be on the right track to recovery.

WHAT REGION DO YOU SERVE?

I’m based in Newnan, Georgia but serve the metro Atlanta area as well as surrounding cities.
